This question comes in from Tina and she asks if there’s a DIY deodorant recipe that doesn’t use baking soda. Watch the video below to learn more.
Did You Know?
Almost all the deodorants on store shelves have one of the synthetic or toxic ingredients in them; aluminum, parabens, propylene glycol, phthalates, and triclosan.
The Main Problem That We All Face
Have you ever wanted to use a deodorant that is all natural, effective at neutralizing odor, and doesn’t cause any irritation due to the ingredients? The recipe below can help with just that and you don’t have to use any baking soda either!
DIY Deodorant Recipe Without Baking Soda Recipe
Ingredients:
– ¼ cup baking soda (OR replace with 1 tbl of each of the next 3 ingredient below)
– ¼ cup arrowroot powder
– 3-5 tablespoons coconut oil
– 2 tbl sp shea butter (or cocoa butter) – add a little more for firmer texture
– 10 drops total of lavender, orange, and/or protective blend
– 1 empty glass container (12-16oz)
Directions:
1.) Combine baking soda, arrowroot, shea butter, coconut oil, and your favorite essential oil blend into a high powered blender (or large bowl if you want a slight arm workout)
2.) Blend for 30 seconds or until one texture is formed
3.) Pour into a glass container with a lid
4.) Apply pea sized amount under each arm (or other sweaty areas, as needed)
In Summary
This DIY deodorant recipe is great because it still is very effective at handling bad odor and neutralizing the pH under your arms but is less likely to cause irritation.
